![]() ![]() Friends! Hello again! Well, about my life... but first, do you like my church? St. Patrick's in Racine! Awesome? No? Well anywho. My mom just met this guy she's interested in, his name is Anthony. Anthony isn't Catholic (I think he's Baptist), and yesterday (Sunday) he gave me this antiCatholic book to read, called Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown (the guy who wrote The Da Vinci Code). I took a look at the book yesterday evening, and then handed it back to my mom this morning and asked her to give it back to him. Eww! The book is so disgusting. Apparently Anthony failed to realize, that not only is that book antiCatholic, but it's also antiChristian, period!!!!!!! And, for anyone wondering: so too, is The Da Vinci Code. Yuck! Nathalie, after reading that, you should take a breath of fresh air and read The Da Vinci Hoax, by Carl E. Olsen, and Sandra Miesel. $15.95 plus s&h, here: http://shop.catholic.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-R2090.html?L+scstore+mlcx9333ff782678+1101915550 Moving along...
oh wait, did I mention it was Sunday (yesterday) when this guy handed me that book? THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT I GO TO MASS, AND WHAM! SATAN STRIKES! Imagine that... but anyway... *before* the guy handed me that book, yesterday after Mass (in which I did *not* receive Eucharist, as I have not yet confessed some sins, and haven't been Confirmed as a Catholic), I went to the library to do some fun, peaceful Sunday reading (when I e-mailed the group with my "e-mail of peace"). Yesterday I started reading J.R.R. Tolkeins The Hobbit, again. J.R.R. Tolkein was a devout Roman Catholic himself, truth be told now. :-) I picked up on the last part of The Hobbit, where I'd left off over a year ago when I stopped reading it upon comming down to Charlotte. I don't know why I stopped. Hmm... what else now. Ah, Dayna, I hope you're well and okay and all that good stuff. "Peachy," is what I'm trying to say. I hope you're peachy. :-) I did pray for you. Oh that reminds me... this may seem like an awkward place to throw this in, but it's on my mind: have any of you ever had an experience where you just look at a person and *whew*, it's like you've spiritualy connected and read each others hearts? Wow, lol that's what happened to me yesterday at the library, when this cute redhead... well anyway I think you get my point. I figure it's a blessing from God, or a snare from Satan. We'll know soon enough, if I end up meeting her again. (I mean, I'll find out what or Who she believes in) Seems like I saw her a couple of years ago... if I recall correctly, her name is Gretchen, and she went to my high school, and is perhaps Catholic if I recall... but I don't know. I don't even know why I'm spouting out names like this when I haven't a clue--I only saw her from afar, really. Moving on... I only have until the end of this month to apply to Marquette University. So I'm going to pull everything together at this "last hour," ;-) and see what God does or does not want for me. After all, I feel like He already gives me entrance to MU... it seems He's spoken to me, but I don't know absolutely yet. (((((((Sorry God, I know I'm putting you on the spot, aren't I?))))))) I trust and obey. :-) Well, that will do it for now I suppose. I really do not wish to make this a very long entry. There's always time for more, right? Heh heh hehhhhh, perhaps I'll write again sooner than five months from now... Jason |

| concerned December 2, 2004 06:24 PM PST haven't posted in awhile there bud. how come? there has to be something going on in your little life in the "cursed" city of Charlotte... C3 boring you? seems like you may have self-righteous issues... sad. don't create a sanctuary around yourself where you feel that pretty buildings, ornate structures, patterns of a service, and the liturgy of Catholic services are above what God has in mind for your life. if you're so worried about Charlotte being such a cursed, dark, anti-christ-like place, then my question to you is: WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT?! HUH? nothing, obviously- you're just sitting around whining about how everything around you is imperfect and people are judgemental. SO THEN WHAT ARE YOU? not perfect, and not doing anything to reach out to your community, your campus, your "friends" (since apparently you have so many) and your professors/faculty members? do they see Jesus in your life? do you share with them what the Lord is doing in their life? do you ask them what the Lord has shown them in their lives, through struggles and trials? do you care? you should. Matthew 28:19-20... plain and simple. God is very clear as to why we as Christians are here- to spread God's wonderful Holy Word to the LOST. I'm not saying bash people for what they don't believe or because they aren't CATHOLIC, I mean come ON! I have many friends who are born-again Catholics and Jews and they are such changed people- but I don't see that change in you. my hope for you is that you find truth and quit getting caught up in the minute details of your "religion". what about your "relationship" with the one and only Savior of the world? sounds to me like you have some serious heart-searching to do my friend, and that doesn't mean "confessing to a priest"- he's a human too, confess it to the FATHER, the one who created you in HIS image! the saints can't help you, they're dead- talk to God, He's the only one who can help you- and seek wise counsel, from Bible-believing born again Christians who have a heart for people. you say you love people, well, prove it. start doing something about it and be prepared to see the fruits of your labor as you allow the Lord to work in your life! | ||
| Jason November 30, 2004 04:26 PM PST To the one who mentions the issue of distinguishing between "fact and fiction," I ask: do YOU know what fact is? Is there a fact? Or is everything relative? Do you really think when Jesus said not to murder, He was speaking relatively? And if Jesus was speaking of absolute things, what do you think He meant when He spoke of establishing a visible Church on Earth which would not succomb to chaos? Do you really think relative Christianity (i.e. Protestantism) is what Jesus came to establish? Relativists don't believe in their own existence, which as an Psychologist should know, is insanity. Is SANITY really fiction? I dunno about you, but I would consider you to be PSYCHOTIC. (Psychosis is when we think things, such as relativism, to be true and real). Peace. P.s. rape of children? sheesh! The Catholic Church didn't do that! You might as well say that when someone sins, God sins because God is responsible (?) for that person. | ||
| Dayna November 25, 2004 02:58 PM PST Hey to whoever wrote that last comment: i wanna say that Jason is a great and a amazing guy and whoever thinks he is patheic.. i guess i am too... Jason is such a wonderful guy who loves Jesus and his friends very much. Im very blessed to have him in my life.. | ||
| jim November 22, 2004 08:17 AM PST the da vinci code is about the fact that people make up stories to support their own religion. There is nothing wrong with faith, but when you believe things that are obviously made up and then try to tell the world that your view is accurate and the only Way, then there is something wrong with you. And, yes, the Catholic Church has been responsible for many murders, protecting falsehoods (they knew the dead sea scrolls conflicted with Jesus' portrayal), and failing to protect the rape of many children. it is a pathetic person who cant distinguish between fact and fiction. | ||
